Washington — Neeti Kaur joins URA team as the new Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.
Neeti has 20 years of finance and accounting experience in the corporate, political and non-profit sectors where she has held various roles managing the fiscal functions of the organizations.
Prior to joining URA, she served as the Chief Financial Officer at Progressive Power Lab, a management services company for non-profit and for-profit organizations located in Washington D.C. There, Kaur worked alongside the leadership of partnering organizations to develop their strategic and financial planning. During the coronavirus pandemic, Kaur became a key advisor to partnering organizations to ensure their financial viability.
Kaur has also embraced financial leadership positions in the media and advertising industry as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance at CLS Strategies and Bully Pulpit Interactive.
Coupled with her experience in media and advertising, Kaur also gained non-profit management expertise while working in the political sector for three years. During that time, Kaur worked on President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee and Organizing for Action.
She developed a solid understanding of accounting and finance over the course of her career as an accounting consultant at CNA Financial Corporation, a commercial property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. While at CNA, Kaur led projects including their enterprise-wide Financial Systems Roadmap (FSR) project and compliance with new GAAP and Statuary basis accounting pronouncements.
Kaur received her bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a certificate in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Organizations from Northwestern University. In her spare time, Kaur enjoys hiking, visiting national parks, traveling and spending time with her family.
