The Universities Research Association National Labs Seminar Series will feature Dr. Giselle Sandi-Tapia from Idaho National Laboratory. She will present on her research, career path, and opportunities at INL.

Bio:
Dr. Giselle Sandi-Tapia is the Director of Research Excellence Programs at Idaho National Laboratory (INL), where she manages professional development, funding and award application support, the publishing process, and student, faculty, and postdoctoral programs. Dr. Sandi-Tapia has 25 years of experience within the national laboratory system and 35 years of experience in academia. Her technical background is in energy storage, nuclear forensics, nanoscale engineering, and in-situ characterization techniques. Her previous academic appointments include serving as an associate professor and Director of the Office of Mentoring Programs at Rush University Medical College, an adjunct professor in Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and an adjunct instructor at both the University of Costa Rica and Benedictine University. Prior to joining INL, Dr. Sandi-Tapia was the Deputy Division Director and Division Operations Lead of the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Sandi-Tapia holds a PhD in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University. She has authored 89 scientific publications, seven book chapters, and three U.S. patents, and has delivered 175 invited and contributed talks.
