Ten outstanding graduate students will spend their summer working alongside Sandia career scientists, engineers, and technical staff on unclassified projects to support the lab’s seven research foundations.
During the program, the Fellows will have the opportunity to enrich their academic background by engaging in challenging research and development projects related to their graduate program or academic focus. The Fellows will also be provided professional development opportunities by interacting with experts within their field through meetings, events, and tours sponsored by the SNL Student Intern Program, SNL Academic Programs, and URA.
The Fellows will work alongside their paired Sandian mentor to work at Sandia National Laboratories in either Albuquerque, New Mexico, or Livermore, California. The program will start in May and end in August 2023. This is the second year for the Sandia Summer Fellows Program funded by the Universities Research Association and administered by Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).
